What is Age-Friendly Solutions?

Age-Friendly Solutions is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization, established to finance the programs and related costs of the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center through grants and donations.

In  2017, the Age-Friendly Corte Madera task force, developed a Strategic Plan, a requirement of the World Health Organization, to maintain the Town's designation as an Age-Friendly City in the World Health Organization's global network

of age-friendly cities. The Strategic Plan included the ambitious goal to establish an Intergenerational Center where people of all ages could participate in quality programs, some together and some separately. Through research, we determined that there were intrinsic, meaningful advantages that would have positive impacts on our community.

​​With Corte Madera's aging population -- nearly 25% of the residents are 60+ and the County has the highest percentage of residents over 60 in the State of California, the Task Force became especially concerned about isolation in our aging community. The goal was to create the Age-Friendly Center with activities to appeal to that demographic and to include activities where all ages could interact with mutual benefit.
